Established in 1984, Kochav Yaakov has become one of the largest yishuvim in the Binyamin region just north of Jerusalem. At present, there are approximately 400 families living on the yishuv, and another 800 families living in neighboring Tel Tzion. As Kochav Yaakov is one of the closest religious yishuvim north of Jerusalem, it is estimated that in a few years it is likely to expand to the point where may actually become a part of Jerusalem!
Kochav Yaakov is a religious heterogenious community spanning from Haredi to National Religious (Knitted Kippah), to Sepharadi, Ashkenazi, Yeminite, to Hebrew, French and English speaking residents, all living together in harmony and ahavat yisrael!
Residents of Kochav Yaakov come from all over the globe; America, Argentina, Ethiopia, France, England, Holland, Mexico, Peru, Russia, etc. This gives a special flavor to our community which we are proud of!
Kochav Yaakov offers a wide variety of modern conveniences and services including a top notch supermarket, dry cleaners, bakery, restaurants, several medical offices, fitness room, basketball courts, carpentry shop and much more!.
We hope that you too will choose to join us in our quest to expand our yishuv to become a shining example of true Ahavat Yisrael in every sense of the word!
